The Journey Behind EverHome
EverHome Pet Hospice & In-Home Euthanasia was founded by Dena Reinisch, DVM, and Kiefer Gill, CVT—two veterinary professionals with more than 35 years of combined experience caring for animals and supporting the people who love them.
Throughout their careers, Dena and Kiefer have accompanied countless families through illness, aging, and end-of-life decisions. Those experiences taught them that a peaceful passing involves more than the medical act of euthanasia. The environment, timing, preparation, and support surrounding a pet’s final moments can profoundly shape the experience for both the animal and the family.
Although their professional paths were different, Dena and Kiefer had each reached the same conclusion: families deserved greater awareness of—and access to—a more personal alternative. A veterinary hospital may be the right setting for some families, but it should not be the only option they know exists. At home, pets can remain in familiar surroundings while families are given the privacy, time, and guidance to say goodbye in a way that reflects the life and bond they shared.
When Kiefer and Dena met and began sharing the experiences that had shaped their careers, they recognized a beautiful alignment in their values and vision for end-of-life care. EverHome grew from that shared understanding and their commitment to raising the standard of what a final veterinary visit can be.
EverHome exists to expand what families understand to be possible at the end of a pet’s life. Through experienced medical care, honest guidance, and careful planning, Dena and Kiefer help families recognize when it may be time, prevent unnecessary suffering, and give their pets the opportunity to remain at home through the end of their lives.
